With the end of October comes Halloween and with Halloween comes spooky limited-time events across the gaming world. Marvel Rivals is no exception. This year, NetEase unleashed a chilling new mode: Marvel Zombies, a 4-player co-op, player-vs-environment (PvE) shooter that pits players against endless hordes of zombified citizens, and some truly terrifying super-powered bosses.

Your mission? You and three other heroes, have to aide Konshu to defeat the chaos magic and survive the chaos, mow down waves of undead enemies, and take on monstrous versions of Namor, the zombified King of the Sea, and Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch turned Queen of the Damned.

Characters: This game mode has a small roster for you and three other people to chose from; Blade The Day walker, Frank Castle: The Punisher, The Mighty God Of Thunder: Thor, Magik, and Jeff The Land Shark (the only healer by the way).

Gameplay:

At its core, Marvel Zombies retains the fast-paced controls, stylish visuals, and team-based combat that players love about Marvel Rivals. The big difference is the PvE structure instead of fighting other players, in the usual moba modes, you’re facing endless waves of undead NPCs.

Khonshu plays a key gameplay role, occasionally granting buffs to the team. These blessings are randomized, including healing bursts, damage boosts, or special power-ups that can turn the tide mid-battle.

The zombie enemies come in all shapes and sizes — standard mobs that swarm and overwhelm, and elite undead mutants that take real teamwork to bring down. Every round ramps up the intensity, forcing teams to adapt and coordinate or get buried beneath the undead masses.

Boss Fights: The Undead Pantheon

The event’s highlight lies in its boss encounters.

  • Zombie Namor dominates the battlefield with aquatic energy cannons, devastating tidal waves, and massive AoE attacks. He’s relentless, forcing players to stay mobile or be crushed beneath his watery wrath.

  • Zombie Scarlet Witch is pure chaos — a magical juggernaut capable of twisting the battlefield with explosive chaos energy. She’s a true bullet sponge who punishes poor positioning and careless aim.

Each boss feels cinematic, with their own signature animations, attack phases, and visual flair making every fight feel like a mini-raid event.

Final Thoughts: A Halloween Treat for Marvel Fans

The Marvel Zombies event might not reinvent the wheel, but it nails what a seasonal event should be: fast, fun, challenging, and dripping with spooky Halloween energy. It’s a perfect excuse to squad up with friends, mow down zombies, and enjoy Marvel Rivals in a fresh new way.

For fans of co-op shooters or Marvel’s darker storylines, this event hits the sweet spot between comic book mayhem and arcade chaos. Whether you’re in it for the loot, the lore, or just to see Blade slice through zombie hordes this Halloween event is absolutely worth checking out.

TL;DR:

  • Event Name: Marvel Rivals – Marvel Zombies Mode

  • Developer: NetEase Games

  • Genre: 4-Player PvE Co-op Shooter

  • Highlights: Blade, Punisher, Magik, Thor, Jeff the Land Shark

  • Bosses: Zombie Namor & Zombie Scarlet Witch

  • Vibe: Fast-paced, chaotic, spooky fun for Halloween 2025
