brevity and ethics: i have no affiliation with Mega man or Capcom, I'm just a fan

Megaman and his future counterpart, Megaman X, are both icons of the Capcom universe. Megaman X has been featured in such crossover titles as the Marvel vs. Capcom series, where he fought against the Marvel universe. The beloved blue bomber even featured in the cartoons with his past counter part. These epic crossovers highlight the versatility of these popular characters and their ability to fit into various settings. In addition, their abilities, personality types, and designs have drawn in fans, resulting in a love of the reploid hunters.

In this list, I will talk about some of the more fun moments or things in mega man that i just love or think about a lot.

Spider; Megaman X: Command Mission:

My favorite game in the Megaman X series, which has earned me a fair share of controversy, is the JRPG-style title, Megaman X: Command Mission. Command Mission is an interesting oddity that deviating from the usual gameplay of a Megaman X game. Despite the unusual plot, the moment that really captured my attention was when you gain Spider in your party. This edgy robot in a robot fedora, whose powers and weapons are based on poker, has a royal flush super attack, and I couldn't help but marvel at his dorkiness but also love the strange charm he brought to the game.

Megaman x6: Zeros return

Another favorite memory of mine in the Megaman X series comes from the final installment, Megaman X6. Zero's return after his supposed demise in Megaman X5 was a dramatic surprise that many fans didn't see coming. While it turned out that Capcom had planned this all along to set up for the Megaman Zero series that concluded the franchise, it was still a thrilling moment that showed how Zero was not merely an ally but a warrior with an amazing level of strength and resilience. Him being able to repair himself like a robotic healing factor only continued to showcase how cool he was, making fans marvel at his badassery even more.

mega man x1: Hadoken

I'll never shy away from expressing my love for the Megaman franchise, and today won't be any different. During the early days of Megaman X, Capcom would frequently include references to other games in their titles. One of the most famous examples is the Hadoken easter egg in the game, which is a hard achievement to unlock but offers the sweet satisfaction of an instant game win when you use it. You can only find it near the end of the game on the last level, which makes unlocking it all the more rewarding.

Megaman The Power Fighter: Zero's revelation

One of the most fascinating and mysterious aspects of the Megaman X franchise is the lore of Zero. While the backstory and lore are sprinkled throughout the games, nothing is definitively given, leaving fans to speculate and create their own theories. However, in the non-canon Power Fighters series, if you complete the game in a specific way, you are rewarded with a lore drop for Zero. This new information is a fascinating look into Zero's origin story and his relation to Dr. Wily and Bass, providing even more of a mirror image between Bass and Mega Man, as well as Mega man X and Zero

Megaman X anime

There's nothing wrong with cheating when it comes to talking about something you really love. As a major fan of the Megaman X franchise, the anime is an absolute treat and definitely deserves a moment in the spotlight. The OVA is a fantastic look into Sigma's plan, how he was able to take control of the mavricks, and how he and Vile betrayed the other maverick hunters. Although the story is condensed into a relatively short 30-minute period, the intensity and emotional weight of the betrayal are incredibly effective in conveying the stakes for the characters involved.

The anime is a testament to the quality and care that went into the Megaman X franchise. Gorgeous animation and captivating voice acting create a visually stunning and engaging experience. The story is a great recap and adaptation of the first Megaman X game, providing a thrilling look at Sigma's plan and the betrayal that set the stage for the epic adventure to come for the maverick hunters.

Megaman X in Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite

As a consistent staple in the Capcom vs. franchise, Megaman has been a constant presence, appearing in all titles except Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Instead, Zero took his place, wielding his original armor as an alternate outfit. However, Capcom made up for this with the announcement of his return in Infinite alongside his original armor as a playable fighter. With the epic battles of Capcom vs. games, it's no wonder that the blue bomber is always one of the most anticipated features for fans.

X's moveset in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is a powerhouse combo of effective string attacks, paired with powerful hypers that can cause massive damage. To top off his skill set, he also gets his signature Hadoken, allowing him to unleash an impressive ranged attack. The blue bomber has the perfect blend of agility and power to keep players on top of the fight, making him one of the most dangerous characters in the roster.

Spoiler warning for Marvel Vs Capcom infinite:

Megaman x meets megaman

The Saturday morning Megaman show is a beloved classic among the gaming community, despite its campy writing and unusual designs compared to the original games. However, there are a few things that every Megaman fan can agree on. Firstly, they know that Rock is a super fighting robot, ready to battle against the evil forces of darkness. Secondly, the opening theme song is a catchy and iconic tune that gets fans pumped up for the adventures to come.

And the third is that this crossover episode completely rocks. Dr. Wily wakes up one morning pondering his latest evil scheme, only to find that he's missing the equipment needed to create his Super Death Ray. As he laments his misfortunes, a time portal mysteriously opens up. From it appear the menacing duo of Vile and Spark Mandrill with an offer to Dr. Wily. Vile offers Wily the designs for the location of a local power plant in exchange for the items needed for his death ray. Wily is left with a decision between his evil plans and the lucrative deal offered by Vile and Spark Mandrill.

As Vile is rampaging through the power plant, Megaman tries to stop him but fails to match his power and strength. However, another portal opens up, and Megaman X walks out. For many fans, this is the first time they're seeing the new version of the popular robot in action, leaving them surprised by his muscular physique and superhuman speed. X is a fast and agile megaman, able to grab Vile's stun beam out of the air and throw it back at him. He and Megaman work together well, but Vile's sheer power forces him to retreat.

But when x returns, he gives a quick run down on vile, sigma and what the two need to do to stop vile and mandrill. The episode is an incredible written love letter to x and megaman in a way that just makes me happy to think about. I wont spoil the rest, i do reccomend if youre going to watch any episode of the cartoon, this episode is worth it alone/

Editors note: Capcom's nft announcement really continues to prove that Capcom does not know what the megaman fanbase likes or actually cares about megaman anymore.
