E3 was once one of the most significant gaming events of the year. However, as developers and companies like Nintendo and Sony began to do their own livestreams, and the conference being put on hold throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. While fans eagerly awaited its reopening each year, further notice of cancellation followed, leading to today's conclusion that the conference has officially been shut down. Even after its demise, we will forever remember E3 for the joy and excitement it brought to gamers all over the world.

Back in 1996 at the first ever E3, the atmosphere was stuffy and boring. However, the most integral moment of the event came when Sony announced its new console, the original PlayStation, alongside its price, merely stating "299." As the crowd realized the significance of the price tag, the air in the room was filled with clapping and cheers. The iconic moment, where then-President of SCEA Steve Race walks off the stage, remains etched into the hearts of gamers everywhere.

And when a fan yelled out that Keanu was "breathtaking," the star chuckled and returned the compliment, creating an iconic moment at the conference.
