In a day of incredible gaming news, we cannot ignore the announcements of a brand-new Contra game alongside a thrilling new Nintendo Direct and the reveal of the latest DLC for the immensely popular Elden Ring. Yet it's not just the quantity that sets this day apart but the sheer quality and depth of the trailers and announcements offered. The DLC's macabre, dark aesthetic draws parallels to Berserk, leaving viewers with a deep sense of haunting beauty. The eerie narrator's ominous voice-over further cements an atmosphere of sinister terror. In this chilling trailer for the upcoming Elden Ring DLC, a narrator sets the tone of the expansion with a spine-chilling warning: a looming entity is coming to cleanse the souls of mankind with a terrifying kind of love. As the ominous narration unfolds, a knight on a horse rides through a graveyard approaching a dark castle covered in a forbidding tree. This DLC promises to take us on a macabre and breathtaking adventure of darkness and dread.

A second narrator takes over to add even more depth to this ominous and macabre new DLC for the already captivating Dark Souls experience. He tells us that in the forsaken place, blood must be spilt. The trailer continues with a smorgasbord of grotesque and disgusting monsters, including a blazing impachi, a leech monster and a massive chimera with a lion's head and lightning crackling behind it. We also get plenty of amazing gameplay footage showcasing fluid combat actions, elemental attacks and some of the bosses' various moves. The expansion's macabre atmosphere is simply breathtaking.
