brevity and ethics: I have no affiliation with The Crow, im just a fan

Recent news from the entertainment world has fans of The Crow excited and impatient for the film's remake, which is slated for a 2024 release. So far, fans have only been able to learn a few snippets of information about the remake, such as its lead actor Bill Skarsgard. With the film's release date nearing, fans have been anxiously awaiting more news about the beloved cult classic dark comic adaptation.

The long-awaited glimpse into the remake of the cult classic dark comedy adaptation The Crow has finally been released, and fans are reacting with mixed reviews. There's no doubt that lead actor Bill Skarsgard looks closer to Eric Draven than Brandon Lee did, but at the same time, he doesn't resemble Draven's iconic look. Some fans have gone so far as to compare him to Jared Letto's Joker, with the tattoos covering his chest and nipples considered particularly jarring. However, the creator James O'Barr has always wanted his adaptations to be different, and Skarsgard looking like a SoundCloud rapper would certainly be more different than Brandon Lee's looking like a Kiss fanboy.

Bill Skarsgard compared to Comic Eric
If you removed some of Skarsgard's chest tattoos (and nipple tattoo.) he would look closer to the comic's version of Eric. And im glad that O'barr has creative control over this.

While there has been mixed reception to Bill Skarsgard's unconventional look as Eric, I'm happy that they did a better job casting the love interest Shelly, who is now played by actress FKM Twigs. And while fans may still be split on the lead actor's strange tattoos covering his chest and nipples, there's no doubt that Skarsgard and Twigs make an adorable couple as Eric and Shelly.
