Recently, the studio behind the acclaimed 'Spider-Verse' revealed some concept art for a proposed Batman Beyond film, which was meant to feature the iconic hero in a similar vein as the Spider-Verse series. According to Spider-verse visual designer Yuhki Demmer's Twitter account, he and Patric Harpin pitched the idea to WB five months ago, complete with plot and outline. Shockingly, DC quickly turned them down, offering a concise but crushing "Never." Despite the rejection, DC reportedly commended the duo's enthusiasm.

Personally, I agree that Batman Beyond would have been a perfect fit for the Spider-verse style movie! Their unique animation style truly is unparalleled, with a fantastic blend of hand-drawn elements, shading and CGI models, all combining to create a stunning and gritty aesthetic. This would have been a perfect fit for the Neo Gotham's cyberpunk and gothic architecture that is Batman Beyond's signature. Their eye for detail and how colors should flow made a perfect match.

Judging by the concept art alone, you can see that the experience the team gained from Spider-Verse would have led to a stunning movie! They paid attention to every detail of Terry's world, bringing the Neo Gotham cyberpunk and gothic architecture to life in a way that would have been nothing short of incredible. Here is a comparison from a scene from Spider-Verse 2 and the concept art.
