Overwatch 2 gets My Hero academia Skins
brevity and ethics: I have no affiliation with activison, blizzard, overwatch im just a fan.
Overwatch has never been shy about dipping into cosplay territory when it comes to event skins for the cast. Remember that Cowboy Bebop event? Yeah, let’s just say it didn’t exactly ride off into the sunset with rave reviews. But this time, Blizzard’s upped the ante with skins that feel like they were created with a lot more love—and maybe a bit of fan feedback in mind.
In this crossover event, some of Overwatch 2’s finest are stepping into the shoes (and quirks) of My Hero Academia characters. Space-bending Juno is channeling Uraraka’s gravity-defying charm, lightning-fast Tracer takes on the humble mantle of Deku, and Reaper? Well, he’s right at home as the villainous Shigaraki. Ninja hero Kimimo slashes her way in as the yandere Himiko, and last but not least, our favorite Viking tank, Reinhardt, suits up as the world’s symbol of peace—All Might!
Compared to the Cowboy Bebop event, this one just feels... better. The skins don’t scream “budget cosplay,” and it seems Blizzard took the previous feedback to heart. The effort shines through, even if we’re still scratching our heads as to why Sigma isn’t dressed as All For One. But hey, overall? This event is a solid 10/10 from Overwatch and Activision-Blizzard.
