Playstation State Of Play 09/24/2024 Predictions
Brevity and Ethics: I have no affiliation with Sony Or Playstion, im just a fan
The Sony News cycle has been an increasing one, with the upcoming Anniversary, as well as now the state of play. And with it, comes more predictions for us to theory about and fantasize about.
One of the standout hidden gems in Sony’s extensive library is the action-horror game *Soul Reaver* from the *Legacy of Kain* series. With the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation on the horizon, now is the perfect time to reintroduce a classic that resonates with both nostalgia and fresh excitement. *Soul Reaver*’s gripping story, intense action, and unique take on vampires make it a prime candidate to capture the attention of long-time fans and new players alike. Reviving this title would be a bold step forward for Sony, celebrating the past while paving the way for future success.
In a gaming era where *Final Fantasy VII* received a reimagining, remake, and sequel in an epic multi-part series, Sony has the perfect opportunity to tap into the JRPG revival by resurrecting its lost gem, *Legend of Dragoon*. Known for its stunning cinematics on the original PlayStation, combined with classic turn-based combat and an innovative storyline, *Legend of Dragoon* was truly ahead of its time.
While a sequel was once in the works, it never saw the light of day. Now, Sony has the chance to bring this beloved franchise back, giving it the attention and polish it deserves on the PS5. A modern reboot or sequel could reintroduce the rich world and characters to a new generation of players, while paying tribute to the fans who have long awaited its return. With the current JRPG resurgence, reviving *Legend of Dragoon* could be a bold and exciting move for Sony’s future.
Resident evil 9:
Capcom has been on an incredible streak, from the release of *Resident Evil 7* to the highly praised *Resident Evil 4* remake, consistently delivering top-tier games. In the early 2020s, an internal document leak hinted that *Resident Evil 9* was slowly making its way to us, sparking excitement among fans. If Capcom does have a new *Resident Evil* installment in development, even a small teaser could generate massive hype and remind horror fans that the franchise is far from finished. A well-timed reveal would be a perfect way to keep the momentum going and let us know that *Resident Evil* is still very much alive and lurking around the corner.
Continuing the Capcom announcements, *Street Fighter 6* just dropped its latest guest character DLC—none other than Terry Bogard! This iconic fighter from *Fatal Fury* brings a fresh energy to the roster, and fans are eager to see more. It would be a great move for Capcom to show us some additional *Fatal Fury* love by unveiling more of Terry's gameplay. A showcase of his signature moves, special intros, and story mode interactions would give fans a deeper look at how he fits into the *Street Fighter 6* universe. A closer peek at his unique fighting style and storylines could spark even more excitement and continue building on the momentum of this high-profile crossover!
Konami has already confirmed that the Silent Hill 2 remake will be showcased at the next State of Play, so it's not a question of "if," but "when" and "what" we'll see. My prediction is that we'll get around 10 minutes of gameplay footage, along with insights into how the key story elements will unfold throughout the game.
Sony has enjoyed great success with the Horizon franchise, from the launch of *Horizon Zero Dawn* to the critically acclaimed *Forbidden West*, and even a fun collaboration with the Lego series. If there are any exciting updates on the next *Horizon* game, you can expect to see them today!
The playstion's 30th annivesary is 48 hours away, and sony has shown us they still care about the old fans by giving us a new 30th anniversary game controller and console. its possible sony would show off the 90s retro console skin and controller
