Today marks the 20th anniversary of the sequel to one of the most tantalizing, jaw-dropping, and downright seductive vampire games to ever grace the PlayStation 2 and Xbox Original. I didn’t get to sink my teeth into it when it first dropped two decades ago, but I did manage to catch a glimpse at a friend’s place—and I’ve been captivated ever since. Besides Devil May Cry, there weren’t many games that pushed the envelope quite like this one. The visuals were stunning, the combat was intense, and every moment oozed with style and allure. It was a dark, thrilling experience I couldn’t shake from my mind—and frankly, I’m still entranced by it.

Dragon Ball Z has been revered as one of the defining anime series of the 90s, particularly in the United States, where children were frequently seen imitating the actions and techniques of Goku and Vegeta. The quality of the movies, however, was inconsistent, with the latter installments becoming increasingly diluted by a desire to over-extend the brand. Nonetheless, some hidden gems exist in Dragon Ball Z's cinematic oeuvre, such as the movie under review, which I will now analyze to determine if it truly holds up to scrutiny or not.
