Today marks a thrilling milestone—the 10th anniversary of this hair-raising survival horror franchise! Brought to life by the legendary Shinji Mikami, this game has not only jumpstarted the illustrious career of Ikumi Nakamura but also proved that even a seemingly outdated formula can deliver an unforgettable experience.

This gem of a game exemplifies everything the genre does right: chilling atmospheres, stellar writing, and striking visual and enemy designs that keep players on the edge of their seats. I fondly recall spending countless hours immersing myself in Sebastian's haunting world, exploring the eerie corridors of the hospital, and facing off against terrifying foes like Safe Head and Laura. The game cleverly nods to its roots with references to classics like Resident Evil while showcasing the exciting future of survival horror. Witnessing the villain Rubén—affectionately dubbed "Spooky Eminem"—and his story unfold is a testament to how legends can innovate and inspire new teams to reach new heights. If you haven't had the chance to dive into this incredible game, it’s definitely worth your time!

On a side note, I have to admit: I absolutely loathe Akumu mode and will never play it—just out of spite!
