Nintendo surprised fans on Sunday, November 10, 2024, by announcing a Super Nintendo World Japan Direct set for Monday, November 11. With barely any time to speculate, fans are buzzing with excitement, eagerly anticipating what surprises the event might hold.

The Direct was a charming, interactive tour of the new Donkey Kong Country world, recently added to Super Nintendo World. Guided by the legendary Nintendo executive and game developer Shigeru Miyamoto, viewers were treated to an immersive look at iconic locations from the Donkey Kong Country games, now brought to life as vibrant, hands-on attractions in the theme park.

It was delightful to see Miyamoto enthusiastically guiding viewers through the theme park, showing off its lively displays and exciting rides. Fans even got a special treat when another beloved Nintendo character made an appearance—Cranky Kong, in animatronic form, was on hand to deliver his trademark “old-timer” wisdom. The event wrapped up with Miyamoto and Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser waving farewell, both clearly thrilled to share this new adventure with fans.
